I am pleased to announce that I will be seeking re-election to a 6th term as District Clerk of Travis County.
During the past 19 years, we have transformed the District Clerk’s office from one that operated with virtually no automation to one that has become a pioneer in the use of technology. We were the first to implement electronic filing of documents from among the top five most populous Texas counties. We have been recognized as the first in Texas to develop and implement a method to electronically distribute and serve court documents to State, county, and city agencies. Most of all, we were the first in the nation to develop a comprehensive and award-winning online system for jury impaneling: I-Jury.*
While using technology to bring greater efficiency and better service to our customers, we continue to emphasize superior customer service through a professional, well-trained staff and by collaborating with other civil justice departments to assist persons who elect to represent themselves in court proceedings.
I am looking forward to building on this solid record of service and achievement for another four years, and I ask your support to help make this happen.
